Much like the presence of watermarks that leave a lasting impression on paper, Watermark Church hopes to leave a lasting impact on the Kingdom of God. We aim to live faithfully in such a way that our actions and faithfulness inspire future generations. Our desire is that our church’s legacy will continue to influence others long after we are gone.

Our Founding Story

In the summer of 1998, a small group of friends in Dallas began to meet, seeking to understand what it would look like to live a life fully devoted to Christ. As they prayed and studied the Word, the idea of forming a new local church took shape. Through months of prayer and planning, the core group, originally consisting of eight families, grew to include many others.

On October 30, 1999, 150 committed individuals came together, covenanted in faith, and launched Watermark Community Church. The church was founded on November 7, 1999, and began with a shared vision for faithful service to Christ in Dallas. What started as a small group has since grown into a vibrant church with an average weekly attendance of 9,000.

Church Campuses and Church Planting:

Although Watermark is based in Dallas, the church has extended its reach across the DFW area. Through church planting efforts, Watermark has launched three additional campuses, each growing into independent, self-supporting churches. These campuses started as remote extensions of the main church, allowing them time to establish themselves, acquire facilities, and build leadership before becoming fully autonomous congregations.
