About Trinity Church
Founded in 1697, Trinity Church is an Episcopal parish located in the heart of New York City. With a long-standing commitment to justice, the church serves its community by providing a variety of outreach services, charitable initiatives, and a welcoming space for all to experience God’s love. Our mission is to work for justice, serve our neighbors, and bring people together in fellowship.
Outreach and Community Services
Trinity Church’s outreach extends beyond worship and faith education. We are deeply committed to helping those in need through charitable grantmaking, hands-on assistance, and a variety of support programs. Each week, we offer 20 worship services, and our food assistance program operates seven days a week, helping those who are hungry. We also provide housing for the elderly and those living with disabilities, support for asylum seekers, and youth programs that serve the next generation. Additionally, Trinity Church hosts a wide range of free music and educational events throughout the year, ensuring that our community has access to enriching cultural experiences.
Beyond our local services, Trinity Church also supports ministries across the globe, from Africa to Asia and the Americas, making a global impact in various communities and ministries that work toward positive change.
A Commitment to Philanthropy
With an endowment of $6 billion, Trinity Church has significantly increased its philanthropic efforts, quadrupling its giving since 2020. In the last few years, we have donated more than $200 million to nearly 500 organizations. Our focus on supporting vital causes locally and globally ensures that we are making a meaningful difference in the lives of many.
Worship at Trinity Church
At the heart of our parish life is worship. Trinity Church offers 20 weekly services, including our Sunday 11:15 a.m. service, which is live-streamed and watched by hundreds of thousands of people worldwide. The church’s historic churchyard at Broadway and Wall Street, along with St. Paul’s Chapel just north on Broadway, serves as a sanctuary for more than 3 million visitors and pilgrims each year. Our beautiful spaces provide an opportunity for spiritual connection, reflection, and peace amidst the bustling city.
Global and National Ministries
As both a thriving New York City congregation and a global parish, Trinity Church is deeply involved in national and international ministries. We help strengthen and support religious communities by offering resources, training, and financial support for churches and leaders worldwide.
Church Divinity School of the Pacific (CDSP):
Trinity partners with CDSP, a hybrid-residency Episcopal Seminary, to help train leaders who create and nurture Christian communities. Through CDSP’s degree programs, we offer education in Christian mission, discipleship, and leadership.
Mission Real Estate Development (MRED):
Through MRED, we assist religious communities across the Episcopal Church and the Anglican Communion in building sustainable financial capacities. This program offers training, grants, and advisory services on real estate to help churches and ministries in the U.S., Africa, Latin America, and the Caribbean.
Trinity Retreat Center:
Located in West Cornwall, CT, the Trinity Retreat Center provides a peaceful environment for rest, prayer, and reflection. In addition to hosting our own retreat series, the center is available for nonprofit organizations to reserve for group meetings and retreats, fostering a space for spiritual growth and connection.
