About Renegade Coffee Company

Renegade Coffee Company was born out of a conversation Kris, the owner, had with her kids about what her next business venture should be. A seasoned entrepreneur, Kris was ready for a new challenge and adventure. One of her children suggested there was a need for a better coffee shop in their neighborhood, and that idea resonated deeply with Kris, who already had a passion for coffee and the business world. From there, Renegade Coffee Company was born.

The Journey to Opening Renegade Coffee

After much research, Kris found the perfect location in the Park Scottsdale neighborhood, a vibrant area known for its welcoming community, great local businesses, and nearby schools. It was the ideal place to bring Renegade Coffee to life, especially with the availability of a drive-thru location. The final piece was choosing a name, and inspiration came from a Thomas Rhett song called Renegades. The name captured the fun and edgy vibe Kris envisioned for the shop—just the right amount of boldness without being too much. In 2018, Renegade Coffee Company opened its doors with a mission to serve great local coffee and made-to-order food to the community.

At Renegade Coffee, we consider ourselves part of the community, and we take great pride in supporting our neighborhood. Whether it’s hosting local groups for meetings, donating to fundraisers, or offering our parking lot for a car wash, we actively engage with the area and do our part to give back. Our commitment to supporting local schools and non-profits is integral to who we are, and we strive to be a positive force in our community.

Expanding to New Neighborhoods

In 2021, Renegade Coffee took the next step by opening a second location in Mesa, near Alma School and University. The second shop opened just in time for the New Year, marking an exciting milestone for the business. The response from the Mesa community has been incredible, and we’re excited to continue building relationships with even more neighbors in this new area.
