Manready Mercantile was founded in November 2012 by Travis S. Weaver, a small-town guy originally from Zephyr, Texas. What started as a passion project in his apartment in Houston, Texas, with Travis hand-pouring candles on a stovetop, quickly evolved into a thriving business. Travis’s vision expanded beyond candles to include high-end goods such as leather accessories, apothecary items, and pantry products. As demand grew, he began sourcing the finest quality items from various brands across the United States.

The Man Behind Manready: Travis S. Weaver

Travis S. Weaver, the founder of Manready Mercantile, hails from the small town of Zephyr, Texas. Growing up, Travis learned the value of hard work early on, having participated in everything from 6-man football to chopping firewood, working cattle, welding, and hauling hay. “If you wanted a vehicle and school clothes, this is what you had to do,” he says. Travis’s background instilled in him the determination and work ethic that would later help him build a successful business. He believes that with sacrifices, hard work, and a willingness to pay your dues, anything is possible.

Travis’s entrepreneurial spirit was further fueled by his experiences after leaving Zephyr. He pursued a degree in advertising and spent time traveling, even living with a family in Mexico where he learned the art of leather tooling. “I see something and I get fixated. I start envisioning ways to make things better or more marketable,” he explains. Many of Manready’s products are traditional items reimagined with a unique twist, turning classic products into something distinctly “Manready.”
