Paramahansa Yogananda and Kriya Yoga

Paramahansa Yogananda’s autobiography, Autobiography of a Yogi, is one of the best ways to understand his teachings and the practice of Kriya Yoga. This spiritual classic was first published in 1946 and continues to inspire millions worldwide. You can find copies of this book for sale at our Bookroom, or purchase it from SRF’s online bookstore. It’s also available for borrowing at many public libraries.

Meditation Services at Hollywood Temple

The SRF Monastics conduct services at Hollywood Temple every Sunday morning and Thursday evening. We also host Group Meditations throughout the week. Everyone is welcome to attend and experience the peace and blessings of meditation in the sacred atmosphere of the temple. After our Sunday services, SRF members are available to answer questions at the table under the blue umbrella outside the temple. Paramahansa Yogananda’s Presence

Hollywood Temple has been a blessed place since its dedication on August 30, 1942. Paramahansaji regularly conducted Sunday services here in the early years, and his divine presence still fills the temple grounds. Visitors often feel a unique upliftment and blessing when they visit. As Paramahansa Yogananda once said, “When you enter these grounds, speak no evil, hear no evil, see nothing negative, and you will feel the sacred vibrations that are always present.”

Explore the Temple Grounds

Our temple is home to peaceful meditation areas, a Bookroom, a gift shop offering beautiful crafts from India, and India Hall, a two-level activities center. Visitors are encouraged to ask the receptionist in the Bookroom for a guided tour of the grounds to learn more about our temple and its rich history.
