History

The inspiration for Photo Digitizer came from my father’s collection of family photos, which spanned 75 years and was stored in boxes and old albums. We had discussed the need to scan these photos, but the project seemed overwhelming. The cost and time involved in using online services were prohibitive, so in 2021, I decided to take matters into my own hands. My father became my first client, and I scanned 8,000 of his photos and saved them onto a USB flash drive. The original photos are now safely stored in archive boxes, and we now have a convenient, shareable digital archive. This project not only preserved our family’s history but also ensured peace of mind for future generations.

My passion for photo digitization stems from a love for preserving memories. Growing up, I was surrounded by countless family photos, each telling a precious story. As the years went by, I realized how vulnerable these physical memories were to loss or simply fading with time. This fueled my desire to protect and preserve these moments for others as well.

I’m Prahlad Delaney, the sole proprietor of Photo Digitizer, which I founded in 2021. With over 24 years of experience in photo scanning and restoration, I’ve handled more than 500,000 photos, specializing in editing, color correction, and restoration. My extensive background as a graphic and web designer has honed my skills in clean design and meticulous organization, ensuring that each project is delivered with the highest standard of quality.
