Our History

Excel Church was founded in 2017 by Derrick and Zelphia Raines, who have a heart for helping people grow in their relationship with God and in their personal journeys. With over 25 years of marriage and ministry experience, Derrick and Zelphia envisioned creating a church that would serve as a transformative community for individuals and families in Jacksonville, Florida. Their dedication to ministry and empowering others stems from their own personal experiences of growth and faith. Their children, Marvionte’ and Zahria, also serve alongside them, ensuring that the next generation is equally invested in the church’s mission and vision.

Since its founding, Excel Church has become a place where individuals can grow in their relationship with God, experience support from a loving community, and work toward living lives that honor God and reflect His teachings. The church has quickly gained recognition for its warm, welcoming atmosphere and its commitment to helping people excel in every area of life.
