Our beliefs are solely based on the Bible, and our practices blend early Christianity with local cultural expressions. We aim to foster a community that is centered on Jesus and inclusive of all people. Our mission is clear: to invite you into Life with Jesus. History of Mission Church

Founded in 2008, Mission Church was built upon the foundation of providing a fresh and engaging church experience. We embrace people from all walks of life, offering a place where each individual can feel seen, heard, and valued. Many of our guests come from varied religious backgrounds, ranging from no church experience to traditional denominations like Catholic, Presbyterian, Baptist, Methodist, Pentecostal, and more. This diversity is what makes Mission Church so unique. We believe that by embracing differences, we can create a space where everyone can experience the unconditional love of Christ.

Meet Pastor Tom W. – Lead Pastor

Pastor Tom is the heart and vision behind Mission Church. Originally from North Carolina, Pastor Tom’s family has been rooted in the same county for over 300 years. He moved to Corpus Christi, Texas, in 1991, where he started a freight company. After running the business for 10 years, Pastor Tom met his wife, Selina, at a church event in Houston. It was love at first sight for Pastor Tom, though Selina took a bit more convincing! They married in 2000 and moved to the Rio Grande Valley, where Tom expanded his freight business.

In 2001, Pastor Tom’s life took a profound turn when he had a radical encounter with Christ. This experience changed everything, and he sold his business to enter full-time ministry. In the years following, Pastor Tom and Selina worked with college students and eventually joined the staff of a local church as pastors for families and students. In 2008, they planted Logos Community Church, which went on to plant two other thriving churches.

Mission Church’s vision is to continually seek God’s will, follow His leading, and reach people with the gospel. We are committed to being a church that makes an impact both locally and globally by serving our communities, sharing the message of Christ, and being a light in the world.
