A Legacy of Hospitality and Flavor

The Original Breakfast House was founded by John Stidham, a seasoned restaurant owner with a rich history in the food industry. Before opening this beloved breakfast spot in Phoenix, John owned and operated a dozen restaurants in Northern California, mostly on the Monterey Peninsula. After retiring to Phoenix in 2011, John quickly realized he missed the excitement of the restaurant business. This led him to seek out a space in the newly rejuvenated shopping center at 32nd Street and the Rock in North Phoenix, where he found the perfect spot to bring his vision to life.

The Vision and Theme

After completely remodeling the premises, John created a vibrant 1970s California beach-themed breakfast joint that would become a local favorite. The atmosphere reflects a nostalgic, laid-back vibe, reminiscent of classic beachside diners, offering a cozy and inviting space to enjoy a meal. The menu is a creative mix of unique twists on classic diner dishes, bringing together comfort food with bold, flavorful ideas. The Original Breakfast House, or OBH as it’s affectionately known by locals, has since become a go-to spot for breakfast lovers in Phoenix.

We also serve a variety of mouth-watering omelets and Mexican-inspired breakfast dishes, including chilaquiles, carne al pastor hash, breakfast enchiladas, and the Guadalajara Benedict.
