Buffalo Bayou Partnership is a non-profit organization dedicated to enhancing the 10-mile stretch of Buffalo Bayou, which runs from Shepherd Drive through downtown Houston and extends eastward to the Port of Houston Turning Basin. The Partnership focuses on the planning, design, activation, and stewardship of inspiring spaces along this waterway, creating places that bring together nature, culture, and community.

Our Mission

Whether it’s transforming a former barge terminal into a cultural hub, reinforcing the bayou’s banks with native plants, or constructing the first pedestrian bridge linking the historic Fifth Ward and Greater East End, Buffalo Bayou Partnership is committed to building relationships and engaging with communities. These initiatives are vital in ensuring that Buffalo Bayou continues to thrive as an iconic and accessible resource for all Houstonians.
