At The Real Los Angeles Tours, we are passionate about offering you an authentic and memorable experience of Los Angeles. Founded with a deep love for travel and history, our tours allow both visitors and locals to explore the real LA, uncovering its rich history and unique stories.

A Passion for Travel and Discovery

The journey that led to the creation of The Real Los Angeles Tours began during a trip to Europe in 2012. While wandering the streets of various cities, the founder discovered the power of guided walking tours. They provided a deeper understanding of the city, a personal connection with local experts, and allowed for questions to be answered that might otherwise go unaddressed. This experience was so impactful that the founder decided to bring the same type of tours to Los Angeles.

Filling a Gap in LA’s Tour Scene

After returning to Los Angeles, the founder searched for walking tours to explore the city in the same way but found that most tours were limited to touristy spots like Beverly Hills and Rodeo Drive—places that didn’t represent the true LA. Determined to offer something different, the founder, a historian and passionate Angeleno, set out to create a tour company that would offer an authentic experience of the city. This led to the creation of The Real Los Angeles Tours in 2013.

A Focus on Eco-Friendly Tours and Education

From the very beginning, The Real Los Angeles Tours has been dedicated to providing eco-friendly tours. We aim to create meaningful experiences that not only showcase the city’s history but also raise awareness for environmental causes. By choosing to walk rather than drive, we offer a more sustainable way to explore the city while contributing to the protection of our environment.

Our Growth and Expansion

What began with just one tour and one guide has grown significantly over the years. Today, The Real Los Angeles Tours offers eight distinct tours, led by a team of ten knowledgeable and passionate guides. In 2020, we expanded our offerings by launching Real San Francisco Tours, broadening our reach to more travelers seeking authentic experiences in other iconic cities.
